Washington, June 21 (Sputnik).- The ability to raise funds will be an important factor when choosing the running mate of former US President Donald Trump (2017-2021) in the November 5 elections, the portal reported this Friday. Axios citing sources from the opposition Republican Party.

The vice presidential hopeful is expected to raise funds as one of the main tasks for the rest of the campaign, according to the newspaper report.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and Sens. Tim Scott and JD Vance are among Trump’s top choices, but spokespeople for all of them declined to comment.

According to the news report, the Republican National Committee (RNC) is actively discussing fundraising plans.

The Save America committee, founded on November 9, 2020, is Trump’s main source of fundraising and political spending.

The committee also expects Trump to make a decision on his running mate by July 17.

On Thursday, Trump attended a fundraiser in Cleveland (northeast) hosted by Vance, which raised more than $5.5 million.

Burgum also held a call with Republican Party influencers, while Scott recently participated in a political summit in Washington with billionaires who supported Trump’s primary rivals. (Sputnik)
