Ryan Garcia is very upset and announced that he is leaving for the UFC after his boxing career was put on hold for a year.

Reports emerged Thursday that “King Ryan” reached a settlement with the New York State Athletic Commission after the boxer failed a drug test before and on the day of his fight against Devin Haney.

Samples “A” and “B” from García showed the presence of the banned substance ostarine. As a result, Garcia has been suspended for one year and will lose $1.1 million of his contract purse with Golden Boy Promotions. Additionally, he was fined $10,000.

For Garcia, the most important thing is that his majority decision victory over Haney has been overturned, meaning Haney’s record remains 31-0. Garcia expressed his frustration about this outcome in a post on Instagram, mentioning that Haney got what he wanted. Since he won’t be able to fight for a year, Garcia decided to take his talents to the UFC.

“Hey watch this crybaby get what he wants. I never cheated. I got banned for a year, I HATE ALL THE FAKE PEOPLE AHHH. Boxing sucks I’m going to the UFC”

Despite denying intentionally taking banned substances, Garcia agreed to the terms of the settlement with the New York State Athletic Commission.
