• His race was conditioned by the first pit stop, which occurred on lap 15 when other drivers chose to extend it.
• The Spanish driver put on the medium tire for the second round, which began with an undercut on Lewis Hamilton that put him fourth in the standings and in direct fight for the podium, but his performance with this tire was not the best.
