Car accident south of Young left at least one injured – Diario El Telégrafo

A man was injured when he was involved in a traffic accident, an event recorded after 6:30 p.m. the day before at kilometer 306,500 of Route 3, almost three kilometers south of the city of Young. Based on the data collected by EL TELEGRAFO, through a call to 911 the police were warned of the mistake of a car. When a vehicle from the Highway Police and the Sixth Young Police Station arrived, it was found that it was a rear-end collision between two vehicles. Thus it was learned that moments before, a 22-year-old young man was traveling aboard the Volkswagen Gol car, registered in Paysandú as IAF 7898, along the aforementioned route heading north, at high speed, according to witnesses told EL TELEGRAFO. A few meters before the indicated area, he would have tried to pass the Toyota Starlet, Paysandú license plate IAA 9647, which was going in the same direction but relatively slowly, and was surprised by another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, so he tried to brake. Not having enough space, he ended up rear-ending the Starlet car, destroying its trunk. The force of the impact moved the rear axle of the Toyota to behind the driver’s seat, who was thus trapped and had to be assisted as he was unable to descend under his own power. He was subsequently transferred to Young’s Hospital for care, with a primary diagnosis of minor trauma. The Toyota was left on the natural strip on the east side of the road, while the Gol, with its front and front suspension destroyed, was left on the traffic lane in the central axis of the road. For its part, vehicular traffic remained interrupted for at least two hours while the uniformed officers worked at the scene, with the Scientific Police present. Likewise, long lines of light vehicles, trucks and buses were generated that managed to pass through the area.
