In the middle of a conversation in which Claudia Bahamón brought up the topic of breast prostheses and the reasons why she decided to remove them from her body, the environmentalist also shared as an anecdote and with laughter when she wanted to take the leap from catwalks to the small screen.
At the end of the nineties, Claudia Bahamón stood out in the world of Colombian modeling, being the image of big brands and modeling for prestigious designers; although in 2001 He knocked on the doors of acting, making his first steps in the youth series Francis the mathematician and then in An angel called blueit was the presentation that paved the way for him to success on television.
However, entering the media was not so easy, as he said in an interview with Chicho Arias, former participant of MasterChef Celebrity, who invited her to his podcast called Pending conversations, in which the driver born in Neiva, Huila, brought to light an episode of life that marked her forever, Well, it still amuses him to tell it.
“I remember that before doing television, they invited me to Caracol to do a casting, they were looking for a presenter for the entertainment section for the weekend broadcast. Yamid saw my test and told me: Very cool and all, but “Are you willing to put on boobs?”he said.
Immediately afterwards, Claudia explained why she found the fact funny. “I was speechless, I looked at him and thought to myself, terrified: If I knew that I had already put it on”he added.

The presenter put on her first prosthetics in 1999, although she was never diagnosed with Asia Syndrome (an autoimmune or inflammatory reaction, attributed to a substance foreign to the body), she did suffer various symptoms that affected her health. “I’ve always thought that our body is wise, it protects itself and reacts against anything we put on it that does not belong to it. “I knew there was something, but I didn’t know what it was,” she mentioned.
However, this was not the main reason why Claudia Bahamón was convinced to explant the silicones from her body, something she thought about for a long time, but it was difficult for her, for fear of changing her appearance.
“I did it for many reasons, but above all because It seemed incoherent to me to have two plastics in my body being an environmental activist and talking about the deplasticization of the planet for 19 years. I couldn’t do it, that constantly confronted me,” she explained.
After six years, Bahamón underwent surgery to remove the prostheses from his chest, because in the end, his need to be in line with his principles and commitment to the environment won out.
“When I put them on there was zero information and we were not interested in the topic. I just wanted to fill my bra. I was afraid to take them off, because I didn’t know how it was going to turn out, I think that is the issue that worries women the most and I always tell them: ‘Okay, egg’ (laughs),” she said.
The presenter from Huila does not criticize or judge those who undergo aesthetic interventions, but she thinks that it is important to work on mental health and try to understand the reasons that lead a person to undergo these procedures. “When we want to put on breasts to feel good, it is because something makes us feel bad, because there is social pressure, because you don’t look pretty or you feel a lot of insecurities, that’s what we cover with a pair of breasts,” she concluded.
