The gas supply in Salta is not at risk after the coup attempt in Bolivia – Radio Profesional 89.9

This was confirmed by Professional, the journalist from Salta based in the neighboring country, Fernando ”Turco” Berdeja.

The attempted coup d’état in Bolivia on Wednesday brought concern not only to the Bolivian people, but also to the provinces of northern Argentina.

The thing is that, a few days ago, it was announced that the neighboring country will temporarily be in charge of the supply of natural gas for the NOA region during the months of August and September, during the high consumption season in winter.

However, in dialogue with Profesional, the journalist from Salta living in the neighboring country, Fernando ”Turco” Berdejabrought peace to the Salta authorities with this issue, and pointed out that bilateral agreements are untouchable, and will be respected.

Berdeja explained that the agreements are not at risk due to the great need that Argentina has, not only as part of the demand, but also as supply, given the “lack of fresh money and payment in dollars” for the internal economic flow.

The agreement between Energía Argentina and Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) provides for the supply of up to 4 million cubic meters per day (MMm3/day) of natural gas, depending on internal demand.
