Lima Alliance suffered a painful 3-2 defeat against Bolívar in Matute and could not qualify for the final of the Ciudad de los Reyes Cup despite being two goals ahead on the scoreboard from the sixth minute.

Kevin Serna was the main protagonist at the start of the match when at 2′ he made damage from the right and took a poisoned cross that Ricardos Lagos defined at the other post. Four minutes later, Serna again unbalanced and enabled Jeriel de Santis to score 2-0.

Alianza Lima did not lower the level and was able to establish the victory, but it forgave many chances and ended up paying dearly for that.

And Bolívar began to grow in the party and reengaged due to his effectiveness. At 37′ Henry Vaca invented a great play and made it 1-2 with a shot at the near post. Just three minutes later, Bruno Sávio scored a goal in the area, the ball deflected off Hernán Barcos and Matute equalized.

To make matters worse, Aldair Fuentes cut off a counterattack with his hand and was sent off shortly before the end of the first half.

Despite scoring his first goal with Alianza Lima, Jeriel de Santis was once again unsuccessful in front of the opposing goal by wasting two clear chances, although the last one ended up causing the expulsion of goalkeeper Rubén Cordano, who ended up impacting the Venezuelan-Peruvian attacker after not be able to stop his shot.

It seemed that Alianza had greater options in the 10 vs. 10, but Catriel Cabellos attacked a rival and once again the Victorian team was outnumbered.

When the match seemed to be decided on penalties, Bolívar generated a great collective play and Bruno Sávio declared the Bolivian victory with a perfect finish against Ángel de la Cruz.

Alianza Lima now awaits the loser of Sporting Cristal vs. Atlético Nacional to define third and fourth place in the Ciudad de los Reyes Cup on Sunday.
