This Thursday this film starring the Oscar winner, Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff and Djimon Hounsou, and tells how Samira finds herself trapped in a brutal nightmare of what could be her last day on Earth.

Accompanied by a virtual stranger named Eric and his cat Frodo, she embarks on a dangerous journey passing burning buildings, flooded subways and wrecked cars in a recently silent world where danger lurks everywhere.

“It was a delight to play Samira,” says Lupita. “When the creatures land, she faints. When she wakes up, she finds herself in a whole new world where no one allows her to speak and she has no idea what happened. The script describes Samira as physically fragile, so Nyong’o, who was already slim and fit, decided she would have to lose weight for the role.
