A 47-year-old man died early this Thursday afternoon and a 53-year-old woman was injured after the vehicle in which they were traveling on the A-12 (Camino de Santiago Highway) ran off the road. in the municipality of Legarda.
The SOS Navarra 112 emergency management centre was notified of the incident at 12:08 on Thursday and dispatched the Puente la Reina medical team on duty, an advanced life support ambulance (medicalised), firefighters from the Cordovilla fire station and Guardia Civil patrols to the scene.
The accident occurred when the vehicle, which was traveling in the direction of Pamplona, left the road and collided with the guardrail at kilometer point 16.5 of the A-12, in Legarda, the Government reported. of Navarre.
Upon the arrival of emergency services, the driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old man, had already died. The advanced life support ambulance has transferred a 53-year-old woman to the University Hospital of Navarra, who has a chest trauma, with a reserved prognosis.
The body of the deceased will be transferred to the Navarro Institute of Legal Medicine, where an autopsy will be performed. Civil Guard patrols are carrying out the investigation into the incident.
