Xbox Cloud Gaming comes to Amazon’s Fire TV Stick

If you have a Fire TV Stick We bring you excellent news: very soon you will be able to play the best games of Xbox without needing a console. Microsoft and Amazon announced that Xbox Cloud Gaming will be available starting in july on compatible models of the streaming device.

In this way, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will have the possibility of accessing titles such as starfield, Halo Infinite, Fallout 76 either Forza Horizon 5among many others, directly from the cloud and on your TV.

In addition to a compatible Fire TV Stick and a wireless controller, users will only have to download the new Xbox app to access Xbox Cloud Gaming. The experience promises to be very similar to the one Microsoft has been offering since 2022 with its app for Samsung TVs.

Regarding supported devices, Xbox Cloud Gaming will be available in the Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max which were launched in 2023. They are available in exchange for $49.99/69.99 euros and $59.99/79.99 euros, respectively.

How to access Xbox Cloud Gaming from a Fire TV Stick

If you have any of the Fire TV Stick models already mentioned, all you have to do is download the new Xbox app from the Amazon Appstore. Once that step is completed, you must log in with the Microsoft account linked to your Game Pass Ultimate subscription, and that’s it. Then all you have to do is pair a compatible controller and you will be ready to access the entire Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog of cloud games.

If you are not yet subscribed to the Microsoft service, you can register directly from the Fire TV Stick application. Please note that Xbox Cloud Gaming is only available on Game Pass Ultimate, which currently costs $1,000 per month. 16.99 dollars in the United States and 14.99 euros in Spain. It is worth remembering that Redmond has an offer of only 1 dollar/euro for the first 14 days for those who join the platform.

To play from a Fire TV Stick It will not be mandatory to use an official Xbox controller. Players will be able to take advantage of any wireless controller that can connect via Bluetooth, including the DualShock 4 and DualSense on the PlayStation 4 and 5.

In this way, Microsoft takes a new step to expand the Xbox Cloud Gaming offer outside of consoles. The cloud gaming service is currently available in 25 countries and promises to expand even more in the future.

The curious thing about this announcement is that it comes to light a day after a patent for the truncated Keystone project was revealed. It consisted of a console designed exclusively to provide access to games through Xbox Cloud Gaming. And although its development generated a lot of noise at the time, Microsoft ruled it out due to cost reasons. Those from Redmond realized that the most feasible alternative was to turn to Smart TVs and streaming devices already available.

For now, the good news is that since July You can turn your Fire TV Stick into an Xbox with just one app. We’ll see if more companies join Amazon and Samsung to provide access to Xbox Cloud Gaming on their computers.
