On Saturday morning, Planet Comics and Corferias, organizers of the Comic Con in Bogotá, it was announced that 47-year-old actor Tom Welling will not be able to attend the event that brings together thousands of geek fans every year.
According to the official statement, which was published on social media, the actor’s absence was due to an “event beyond the control” of the organizers. “Welling’s representative announced that the North American star lost his passport, documentation required to enter the country.”

The participation of this artist had generated expectations among those attending the event, which takes place from June 28 to July 1, who remember him for his leading role in ‘Smallville’, a series that aired from 2001 to 2011, and tells the story of a young Clark Kent trying to assimilate his powers as Superman.
Other artists who have missed Comic Con Bogotá
In addition to Tom Welling, this year’s edition also had the surprise of the absence of Steven John Ward, known for his roles in ‘One Piece’, due to “non-postponable commitments” in his filming schedule, as he mentioned in a video on his social networks just a few days before the event began.
In 2022, actor Christopher Lloyd, known for his roles as Uncle Lucas in ‘The Addams Family’ (1991) and Dr. Emmet Brown in ‘Back to the Future’ (1985), was also promised a visit to Corferias, but for “personal reasons” that were not related to the logistics of the event, he was unable to meet with his fans in the country.

With Welling absent from Comic Con Bogotá 2024, Planet Comics and Corferias invite event attendees not to miss the scheduled forums with other artists such as Elijah Wood (‘The Lord of the Rings’), Patricia Azan (official voice of Kyle and Cartman in ‘South Park’), and Isabel Martiñón, noted for producing the official voice for Latin America of ‘Naruto’.
