Boca speeds up for Agustín Martegani – Diario Xeneize

We tell you the details behind a possible signing for the only great.

Boca Juniors began formal talks to hire Agustín Martegani. The midfielder who has just turned 24 years old belongs to San Lorenzo, a club that loaned him to Salernitana in Italy’s Serie A last season. The negotiation seems to be advanced and could close at 2.5 million dollars for 80% of the left-hander’s pass.

With Gary Medel inside, with Tomás Belmonte arriving in Argentina in the next few hours, Agustín Martegani could become the third reinforcement of this transfer market. Boca’s idea is to spend the five available places it has in this window of the Copa Sudamericana and thus make up for the absences due to the Olympic Games and sanctions it has in its midfield.

Martegani is a very technical, left-footed footballer, who stands out for his ability to filter balls and generate play. He could be a replacement for Kevin Zenón or even his partner, because he has played both as a winger, midfielder, double five and even as a midfielder to leg changed by the right wing.

In addition to Martegani, Boca is still hoping to incorporate Brian Aguirre from Newell’s, Matías Galazar from Genk in Belgium, Giuliano Galoppo from Sao Paulo and the Chilean Carlos Palacios from Colo Colo. Then there are the variants on the right side, with Nicolás Tripichio, Federico Vera (Unión) and Juan Barinaga (Belgrano). Later it will be seen if they can bring in a substitute number nine to replace Darío Benedetto, who now without the chance to incorporate Javier Correa, Milton Giménez (Banfield) is being looked at as a possible option.
