In the last few hours, the investigation into the disappearance of Loan Danilo Peña took a dramatic turn. Laudelina Peña, the boy’s aunt, revealed that the child was run over and killed when he was returning from the woods where he went to pick oranges and that the body was buried.

Loan’s aunt testified before representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Corrientes and not before the Goya’s federal prosecutor, Mariano De Guzmán, official who is delegated the investigation. The case had been transferred to federal jurisdiction in the middle of the week due to suspicion of a possible crime of human trafficking.
Loan was allegedly run over by the white Ford Ranger truck of retired ship captain Carlos Guido Pérez, one of the six detainees in the case. The driver of the vehicle would have been intoxicated.
Pérez and his wife, former municipal official of Nueve de Julio María Victoria Caillava, were among the diners at the lunch held on Thursday the 13th of this month at the home of Loan’s grandmother, Catalina Peña. The sixth suspect arrested is Corrientes Police Commissioner Walter Maciel, accused of cover-up.
At first, when the hypothesis that the child had been lost was being investigated, Loan’s uncle, Fierrito Ramírez and Millapi had been charged with abandonment of person.
