The woman who inspired the character of Martha Scott has been very critical of the Netflix series and its creator since it premiered.
My stuffed reindeer is a series which is giving a lot to talk about, both because of the recentness of the real case it addresses and because of the fact that its creator, screenwriter and protagonist, Richard Gaddbe the victim of the notorious case of harassment.
Netflix knows where to shoot when it comes to true crimes, and the series is on its way to being one of the most viewed in the history of Netflix, as we told you yesterday, confirming its success, although much of it has been based on controversies.
And it is that Fiona Harveythe woman who inspired the character of Martha Scott (Jessica Gunning) in My stuffed reindeerhas been tremendously critical of the series from the first moment, which, on the other hand, is normal, if we take into account how it is portrayed – whether true or not.
In fact, Harvey is considering taking legal action against Netflix and Richard Gadd for defamation and for not telling the whole truth in the series.
My stuffed reindeer is a controversy magnet for Netflix
Among the elements with which Martha Scott’s character is built, include 4 and a half years she spent in prison for a previous case of violent harassment. However, Fiona Harvey denies the veracity of that imprisonment in statements to Daily Record.
“I haven’t been in prison. I don’t know where he got the four and a half years thing from.” says Harvey, who also points out that the nine-month sentence shown at the end of My Stuffed Reindeer is not real either: “I have never been to prison“.
Netflix true crimes—and the genre itself—tend to be machines for attracting controversy, and My stuffed reindeer is not an exception. The platform has already dealt with similar cases in The body on fire either Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
Fiona Harvey, who claims to be the victim in this entire case, says she will tell her own side of the story in an interview on YouTube, so it seems that My stuffed reindeer has not finished being the center of attention. Curiously, all of that is advertising for the Netflix series.
