‘MasterChef’ came with a new season testing the culinary and mental skills of 22 new celebrities who were challenged to be on the set of the largest cooking reality show in the world. There was a lot of expectation for this new season, since for some ‘La Casa de los Famosos’ was becoming a bit monotonous in the last few weeks of broadcast.
In previous seasons,’MasterChef’ has been the number one audience in Colombia, surpassing Caracol’s crown jewel, ‘El Desafío‘ who in 2024 is celebrating its twentieth anniversary, changing the name to ‘Desafío XX’.
Did ‘MasterChef’ manage to dethrone ‘Desafío XX?
After this June 18, the ninth season of ‘MasterChef’ premiered at the same time as ‘Desafío XX’, becoming a duel of titans for audience. Kantar Ibope Media published this June 19 the reaiting numbers for the launch day of ‘Masterchef’ leaving it as follows:
1. ‘Challenge XX’ – 12.09%
2. Give Me Life Back – 9.36%
3. Noticias Caracol 7:00 pm – 8, 44%
4. MasterChef Celebrity – 7.14%
No matter how much expectation we wanted to have for this season, it was not enough to surpass the audience of reality shows and news from Canal Caracol. This behavior is due to how advanced ‘Desafio XX’ is, and so far the beginning of ‘MasterChef’. On the other hand, it is expected that the audience will grow as the program progresses, and will manage to increase those numbers and equal or even surpass the audience of the Caracol Channel content program.
The opinion that is circulating on social networks is against Cony Camelo, since many have mentioned that thanks to his presence, they will stop watching the program due to the political inclinations of the singer and actress.
