There is almost a month left until an almost historic event takes place in the audiovisual industry and that is that Natalie Portman will star in her first series and it will do so on Apple TV+. With a brilliant career on television, the actress has become known for films such as ‘Black Swan’ or ‘V for Vendetta’, but she has not been so lavish when it comes to traditional or streaming television.

American actress of Israeli origin ‘The Lady of the Lake’ will premiere next month, an already announced miniseries about which Apple TV+ has now revealed new details. And the trailer is now available and serves as an appetizer for what is to come in July.

Portman returns to television with a genre that made her triumph in the cinema

‘The Lady of the Lake’ will be released on July 19 on Apple TV+, being new content exclusive to the platform and having nothing to do with the film of the same name released in 1947. In this Apple miniseries, we find an adaptation of the American novel by Laura Lippman and which also had name ‘The Lady of the Lake’.

In this thriller, Natalie Portman stars as she steps into the shoes of Maddie Schwartz, a Jewish housewife who tries to hide her path by reinventing herself as a journalist. Her life collides squarely with that of Cleo Sherwood, played by Moses Ingram, who is a mother involved in dark political plots in the city and who struggles to keep her family together.

Of course, Portman and Ingram don’t come alone at all. Other actors and actresses appear in the series such as Y’lan Noel, Brett Gelman, Byron Bowers, Noah Jupe, Josiah Cross, Mikey Madison and Pruitt Taylor Vince. All of them directed by Alma Har’el, who was already director of the first season of ‘Big Little Lies’.

Except for surprise and as has already happened with other successful miniseries on Apple TV+ such as ‘Defending Jacob’, this series is a series composed of a only seven-episode season. On the aforementioned Friday, July 19, the first two episodes will premiere, while the rest will be broadcast individually each Friday until the seventh and last episode is broadcast on August 23.

In this way, Portman returns to television with a series that promises a gripping thriller with multiple script twists and mysteries in each episode. Something similar to what she already found almost 15 years ago with the aforementioned ‘Black Swan’ and which helped her win an Oscar for best actress. Portman’s involvement in this series is also maximum, since she also serves as producer.
