Since last Thursday, the followers of The Boys They can “enjoy” the first chapters of the fourth season of the #1 superhero series on television. And I say “enjoy”, in quotes, because many have not taken the return of fiction well at all, attacking their scriptwriters upon discovering, after all this time, the social criticism nature of the program.
Until now, The Boys had generated a certain unanimity among all those capable of tolerating the ultraviolent, bloody and irreverent climate of many of its plots, having a recommendation rating among the audience on Rotten Tomatoes of around 80%. What happened? As they say in Espinof, some conservative viewers have begun to label it as “woke” and “nonsense created by a bunch of left geeks“, proceeding to massively downvote the series on Rotten Tomatoes. However, for Eric Kripke, creator and showrunner of the show, it makes no sense that these complaints have become common after so long:
