Clans has once again brought a high-level Spanish production to Netflix. With a spirit similar to Iron handbut with a plot that could be taken from a sequel to Farina in the present, Clans It takes us to Cambados, a town on the Galician coast dominated by the Padín family and their cocaine trafficking. The discordant note is Ana, a brilliant lawyer who goes to town to expose the family of drug traffickers after they allegedly ended the life of her father, a protected witness of hers. Fact that he hid from both her and her mother her entire life.
But of course, when Ana arrives in Cambados things get complicated. To begin with, he has a stepsister, she is not the only one who has love and hate for the Padín, the real leader of the gang is with the third grade in Algeciras and the one who runs the show from there, Daniel, soon steals her heart . With all these elements on the table, a somewhat slow series is created, full of people with plots to follow, between romantic drama and criminal thriller, which ends up telling us little in its first seven episodes.
Yes, in season 1 of Clans Quite a few things have happened, starting with an unjust death and ending with a personal and family revenge that causes Daniel and his cousins to be arrested, as well as all the blame falling on Ana. However, after the ending that we have analyzed here, the most major conflicts Clans remain to be resolved. That is to say, Clans needs a season 2.
‘Clans’ season 2, plot: the unanswered questions
Clans It ends with a police operation that puts Daniel and his cousins in jail and leaves the Colombians without their drugs. Furthermore, it is logical that everyone thinks that the mole was Ana and that they chase her. Also, at the end of the season, we discover that Silva betrayed Padín because he discovered that he had a relationship with his wife and, furthermore, that he could be the father of his daughter.
That situation first and that secret later must be the bases of a season 2 with a great impediment. Daniel is supposedly in jail with more than enough evidence to keep him locked up for a long time. Honestly, we don’t see a season 2 of Clans with Tamar Novas in a testimonial role, from prison. Maybe, somehow, he decides to make a deal and go against his father to reduce his sentence. Although the only way for that to happen, that we can think of, is precisely for him to discover that his father was unfaithful to her mother while she was dying of cancer.
On the other hand, the series could opt for a time jump in which Ana already has her son and Daniel is released from prison, or obtains the third grade and wants to look for his son. All of this is, of course, nothing more than speculation.
‘Clans’ season 2: possible release date
The truth is that Spanish fictions have a quite marked irregularity regarding their return on Netflix. For this reason, most of them are miniseries and others, such as Elite, they are quite unpredictable. Therefore, with the little information we have, and waiting for the renewal of the series for season 2 to be confirmed, we have to resort to the general rules.
As a general rule, it is normal to wait two years between seasons, at least as far as drama series are concerned. That’s why we don’t wait for season 2 of Clans until early 2026.
‘Clans’ season 2: who will appear
We are sure that there will be new signings in a hypothetical season 2 of Clans. But until we know if the series picks up where it left off or there’s a time jump, it’ll be hard to figure out.
We hope to see more of Miguel de Lira as Padín, who this season has been very tied to Algeciras and prison. Also from the character of María Pujalte, who seems to have hidden all her life that she had an affair with Padín and that her daughter, played by Melania Cruz, is his daughter. We might not see Francesc Garrido, whose character has left the police, and also the poor sailor played by Diego Anido, who will spend his entire life in prison after accidentally killing María.
Nor do we see the return of Xosé A. Touriñán and Chechu Salgado, who play Daniel’s cousins and who were arrested, as safe or relevant. Nuno Gallego, the true informer of the Padíns, will be important. But who cannot be missing from the series is, obviously, the couple formed by Clara Lago and Tamar Novas.
