I couldn’t miss my summer date, although this time it will be different.

Summer is here and that only means two things on television. A new installment of the Grand Prix is about to start and Blue summer will return to the small screen. 43 years after its premiere on RTVE, the series that marked an entire generation of Spaniards is again broadcast in our country. A fact that is already common, although this year it will be on a different chain.

The series, from 1981, created by Antonio Mercero, told the adventures and misadventures of a gang of summer kids in a coastal town – Nerja (Málaga) – fascinated by two free adult souls: the former fisherman Chanquete (Antonio Ferrandis), and the painter Julia (María Garralón). The exploits and learnings of the protagonists during their vacation period on the Costa del Sol are now more than known to viewers, but they never cease to captivate them.

Antonio Mercero’s legendary series will be broadcast on linear television again this summer, but this time it will be through a pay-TV channel. In familyowned by AMC Networks International Southern Europe, will broadcast the complete series Starting Wednesday, July 10th. It will do so from Monday to Friday, at 3:00 p.m., and until the 19 episodes that make up the iconic fiction are completed. In addition, it can be enjoyed in full on video on demand from the day of its release.

A marathon to end the summer well

If this was not enough, the channel will schedule a special marathon of Blue summer to pay tribute to the name of its last episode (The end of summer). The date chosen for this tribute is on August 31, as it could not be otherwise, starting at 5:00 a.m.All episodes of the iconic series will be broadcast throughout the day.

In addition, on Sunday, September 1, this marathon can be relived again but now on another channel. SELEKT, which will broadcast the entire series from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. The series of 19 50 minute episodes each one is also available on RTVE Play.

Without a doubt, there is no summer in Spain without watching on television Blue summer.
