After the majority opinion of the Bases bill signed in the Chamber of Deputies, From the ATE they called for a 72-hour national strike.

“Given the opinion of the commission of the Bases Law project, which promotes a savage reform of the Stateand the total scrapping of Senasa, as it is not included in the Organizations specifically excepted in said opinion,” they expressed in the official statement published on Friday.

Besides, Rodolfo Aguiar, Secretary General of ATE Nacional, communicated the measure of force through its X account (formerly Twitter) and maintained that it “is extreme and will surely lead to multimillion-dollar losses.” In any case, he considered that the sole and exclusive party responsible for this is the Government and that “If the Base Law is approved, the State will be destroyed“.

In that sense, he announced: “They are going to be suspended for 72 hours all controls at customs, ports and airportsand All zoophytosanitary control barriers will be lifted in the country”.

“They intend to leave on the orbit of the SENASA only the certification of imports, because it is the only thing that interests the Government to obtain foreign currency. The rest of the functions will be delegated to private companies or even to provincial states,” he added.

Senasa also called for a 48-hour strike last March in rejection of the wave of layoffs and the announcement of cuts in the public sector.

Pablo Moyano rejected the labor reform of the Bases law

He Deputy Secretary General of Truckers was against the points included in the labor reform and maintained that the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) rejects the inclusion of the article of the elimination of compensation.

In dialogue with Radio 10, Moyano expressed: “I cannot support a worker paying their own compensation.” Furthermore, he maintained that the Bases law “goes to the detriment of the national business, natural resources, retirees and workers“.
