The social communicator, model and former candidate for Miss Ecuador Landy Párraga was murdered on Sunday, April 28, while he was sharing with his partner in a seafood restaurantlocated in a shopping center in the city of Quevedo (Ecuador).

The murder of the 23-year-old girl was captured on a security camera at the establishment, which shows Párraga standing in front of her boyfriend. From one moment to the next, the woman is intercepted by two men, who shot her several times until she died.

Alleged relations with drug trafficker

The model, participant of Miss Ecuador in 2022, was mentioned in some chats by Leandro Norero, an Ecuadorian drug trafficker murdered in 2022, while in a prison in the city of Latacunga. However, no further information was established regarding his alleged connection.

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Ecuador had revealed details about the so-called ‘Metastasis Case’in which there was a series of conversations between Norero and one of his trusted men, Helive Ángulo.

In the chats, Norero expressed to Ángulo his concern that the model was related to him, since the woman’s name “appeared in a prosecutor’s investigation for money laundering”according to the Argentine media The Coastline.

The social communicator did not speak publicly about what happened and was not prosecuted by the Prosecutor’s Office.he added.

More than 39 people were involved in this case. According to the medium Argentinian Clarionthere were “public officials, prison system guards, lawyers (…) and the president of the Judiciary Council, Wilman Terán, who is currently in provisional prison.”
