A 31-year-old man was the victim of sexual assault in front of the condominium where he lives in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo, Brazil, while waiting for an app driver to take him to work.
The incident occurred in the early hours of last Sunday, April 28, on Campos Sales Avenue, in the center of the city.

The moment of the attack was captured by a security camera, which showed the assailant, still unidentified, waiting outside and beginning the abuse as soon as the man set foot on the sidewalk.
The attacker grabbed the victim from behind and touched his genitals. The victim began to scream and after several attempts she managed to free herself. The images were broadcast by a Brazilian television network.
The victim told the reporter that he believed the attacker was a resident of the building who was waiting to enter.
“I thought it was a resident of the building since it was there when I entered the code. I thought he was going to write the code and enter, but as soon as I turned my back on him, he attacked me. I was paralyzed, since I have a trauma, do you understand? “Five years ago they killed my father with a knife,” he commented.

According to the victim, the man was carrying an object that appeared to be a knife. “I felt something in my leg, you understand? As if it were a knife. He was so stunned that I couldn’t react. He told me, ‘Just don’t scream,’” she said.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, the case was reported as sexual assault in the 1st DP of Campinas. The investigation team is working to identify the suspect seen in the images.
