Two arrested for mistreatment of a 94-year-old woman

This was what happened in the late hours of Sunday afternoon, in a home located near Edison and Fusé streets.

The victim, a 94-year-old woman, who lived with two people, a young man and a woman, close relatives.

It was not revealed whether the police presence at that address responded to an anonymous phone call or under what circumstances.

The truth is that uniformed personnel showed up at the house, verifying that there was a person, a victim of abuse and with signs of physical violence.

The justice system and the emergency medical service were immediately involved. The Women and Family Police Station also participated.

When consulted, Adriana Summa explained to Junin24 that the Municipality’s Adults area – she is the head – and social work intervened in the serious incident.

By order of the prosecutor’s office, the two people who lived with the woman were arrested and transferred to the police station, who, in turn, was referred to a care center, putting her under protection and to receive appropriate care. since he showed signs of having been a victim of violence.

Sad are the statistics that determine that practically 50 percent of attacked grandparents are over 75 years old and the most affected are women with almost 80% of the cases.
