“For the first time in history, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine presents a digital person who will officially give statements to the media”says the message from X from the Ministry in which this unprecedented initiative is announced.

The avatar responds to the name of Victoria Shi and will provide information on consular issues, adds the message, which is accompanied by a video of the new digital spokesperson for Ukrainian diplomacy introducing herself.

“The text you hear is not being read by a real person, but has been generated by artificial intelligence”he says in the video in English.

The character adds that he will provide information about “the work of consuls to protect the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad”.
