Aarna Holdings, an investment fund that manages capital from India and the United Arab Emirates, signed an agreement with the group chaired by Dario Werthein to begin making investments in Latin America, the agency reported this Friday. Bloomberg.

The Indian fund had a liquidity of approximately US$2 billion until April of this year. “With more than 100 years of experience in the Latin American market, Grupo Werthein has become the partner chosen by Aarna Holdings to boost trade and investment between India and Latin America”, the companies stated in a joint statement.

The alliance will aim to promote “the entry of Asian capital into Latin America and project Latin American entrepreneurs towards the Indian market in the medium and long term. Aarna’s investments will be concentrated in the sectors of agribusiness, food and beverage, telecommunications, connectivity, insurance, financial products and real estateamong others.

The W Group stated in a statement that “the experiences of both companies in the deployment of a varied and extensive business portfolio make them a favorable platform for those interested in developing projects in Latin America with financing from foreign capital, in an economy in frank and constant growth.”

The alliance between international businessmen Darío Werthein and Ameya Prabhu has great potential, given that the economies of India and Latin America are complementary and they bring together a series of strategic resources that could boost the commercial and investment link for mutual benefit.

Grupo Werthein is mainly known for managing, through the company Vrio, the satellite television brands DirecTV and Sky in the main markets of the region. It also has companies dedicated to food and beverages, such as Cachamai and Frutty; to agribusiness, as is the case of GNNW Agro y Ganadería; and safe, with Experta.
