“They have not realized the rise of fascism to power. The beacon of democracy is now in Latin America,” the president said on his X account.

“The extreme right wins Europe. The century of enlightenment goes out: it is what I call the global 1933; the wealth distributed by the welfare state has anesthetized the European people and, as in the past, they react against the exoduses that they themselves they have provoked with their wars of conquest, calling on the Nazis. They react against the poor to defend wealth and power,” added President Petro.

These were the results in Europe

The main pro-European and moderate movements obtained the majority of the 720 seats in the European Parliament. For example, The European People’s Party (conservative) obtained 186 deputies, the Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (social democrats), 134, and Renew Europe (liberals), 79. They total 399 seats.

However, the extreme right managed to position itself in France, Italy, the Netherlands and Austria. And in Germany they were the second most voted.

After the results, the president of France Emmanuel Macron called early elections after the victory of Marine Le Pen’s party.

“In a few moments I will sign the decree calling for the legislative elections whose first round will take place on June 30 and the runoff on July 7,” he said this Sunday on television.
