NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, for his part, assured that Putin’s proposals were not made in good faith.

“The plan means that Russia could achieve their war goals by expecting the Ukrainians to give up significantly more territory than Russia has been able to occupy until now,” Stoltenberg pointed out.

It is that the Russian president, Vladimir Putin this Friday conditioned an eventual negotiated solution to the conflict with Ukraine. He assured that peace will be achieved when kyiv withdraws its troops from the four regions that the Kremlin claims and if Zelensky renounces his plans to join NATO.

“As soon as kyiv (…) begins the effective withdrawal of troops (from the regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia), and as soon as it notifies that it abandons its plans to join NATO, We will immediately, this very minute, give the ceasefire order and begin negotiations“said the Russian president before officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“There is nothing new in this, no real peace proposals or desire to end the war. But there is a desire not to pay for this war and to continue it in new formats. “It’s all a complete farce,” said Councilor Podoliak.
