Josele Sánchez (Mérida, 1982) declares himself a lover of his work. Being very young, when he discovered photography in newspapers and magazines he fell in love with this artistic activity to the point of wanting to turn it into his profession. Much to the chagrin of his family, when he was a university student he decided to leave his Telecommunications degree to study Photography in Madrid.. He took his first steps in the world on RTVE. In those times, the photographer had to master the complicated technique of taking a photograph, since then analog cameras required a deep knowledge of manual adjustment parameters to obtain good images and achieve the desired artistic effects.

In its beginnings it also focused on local and regional television. His concern to continue growing ended up making him land in the National Museum of Roman Art. Afterwards, Josele is one of those who takes advantage of all the opportunities that come his way. The twists and turns that life takes led him to work as a city hall photographer in 2020. Throughout those four years there have been many Emerituses portrayed by him who keep in their phones or drawers at home some of his snapshots that immortalized those transcendental moments in people’s lives.

It has a stamp of Don Quixote. Thin, with a beard and always transmits a very good vibe. Politicians, celebrities from different fields, and ordinary citizens have passed before the lens of Sánchez’s camera.… Another important aspect of his professional activity is the photographic coverage of different key events for the city (Christmas, Carnivals, Easter, Emerita Lvdica, Classical Theater Festival…). «A good photo makes you feel. I prefer a concert or a street activity than a press conference, but you have to do everything», explains Josele with a smile.

Sánchez is also a DJ. It is his way of feeling his other great passion. The man from Emeritus has different Instagram accounts. The one you use the most, @josesanchezphotois for your most striking and curious official photographs: martial arts, impressive Roman monuments, stairs and family snapshots.
