The Boardwalk at Bricktown is slated to become the tallest building in the United States following an ambitious renovation. Logic would suggest that the location of this skyscraper would be New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago or any large city that houses the country. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The project will be carried out in Oklahoma City, capital of the state with the same name and located in the Midwest. The territory is a major producer of natural gas, oil and various foods, and with this construction it is intended to give more importance to a key state in the country.

Initially projected with a height of 533 meters, the plan now seeks to raise it to an impressive maximum height of 581 metersa symbolic figure that commemorates the year in which Oklahoma became the 46th state of the United States. With these 581 meters, will surpass One World Trade Center in New York, currently the tallest building in the country, and will be positioned as the sixth tallest building in the world, just after China’s Ping An Finance Center. The design of the architectural complex, by the American studio AO, also includes three smaller towers of 105 meters each.

The project will cover an approximate area of 460,000 square meters and will feature a total of 1,776 residential apartments, ranging from standard-priced units to affordable workforce housing and luxury residences. Two of the towers will house hotels: the Dream Tower will be home to the Hyatt group’s Dream Hotel, with 480 rooms and 85 residential apartments, while the Legends Tower will house another Hyatt hotel with 350 rooms and 100 apartments.

In addition, a commercial and restaurant area will be included with more than 1,000 square meters, as well as a community workforce development center at the first and second levels. According to AO’s press release, the top floors of the skyscraper will be dedicated to a public observatory, a restaurant and a bar, where visitors will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the city.

A mixed-use structure is planned as the main component, standing out for its extensive residential sector with numerous apartments and an imposing Hyatt hotel. The concept images suggest impressive décor, with the incorporation of led lights to enhance your aesthetics.

The promoters, Matteson Capital, have requested permission from the corresponding authorities to carry out this vertical expansion, although no details have yet been provided on the estimated time frames for the start of works. It is estimated that the work will take between 24 and 30 months to complete.
