From cabinetmaking to digital art

Born in Pamplona in 1997, Amets Del Rio (on Instagram @amets3d) has dedicated his life to explore new forms of artistic expression. From an early age he showed creative talent, and as a consequence obtained several awards in different competitions of the Provincial Community (posters for patron saint festivities, drawing and comic contests…).

He came into contact with the painting and sculpture from a very young age, which led him to study artistic cabinetmaking in the Pamplona Art School.

After completing his studies and internships, he continued his training in an Erasmus in Lisbonworking for a furniture restoration workshop, Atelier São Vicente, being part of the team in charge of equipping a palace with restored furniture for the famous designer Louboutin; also participating in the filming of a reality on Portuguese television about cabinetmakers, and working as a technical assistant in a international workshop for architecture students.

The year after finishing the internship and “without having much idea about technology”, he decided to “jump into the pool” and try his luck in the field of digital art. “With courage and determination, I moved to Madrid to start my studies in an area that I barely knew,” says the creator.

Cinema, advertising, games and interactive environments

In this new stage, Del Rio began his training in the U-tad universitywhere he obtained a higher degree in 3D animation, games and interactive environments. After completing his studies, he did an internship as a character modeler for cinema in Ilion Animation Studio (Skydance Animation Madrid).

He later specialized in the field of modeling through two master’s degrees in basic and advanced organic modeling at the school. Lightbox Academyalso in Madrid, perfecting his technique and developing his own unique style.

This training helped lay the foundation for starting a career as freelancecollaborating in the creation of music videos, posters, covers and other visual projects for national and international artists, as well as in advertising campaigns for various companies and brands.

Amets Del Rio remains committed to his professional and personal growth, always seeking “breaking traditional barriers of art exploring new technologies and means of expression.”
