Legislators from different benches of the Chamber of Deputies of the Province agreed to highlight this afternoon that the Smart City Expo that will take place this June 26 and 27 at the Forum Convention Center “is very important for all the initiatives and projects that promote the technological and sustainable development of the province and the region.”

During a new ordinary session led by the vice-governor and natural head of the Legislative Power, Dr. Carlos Silva Neder, the deputies stressed that this third edition to be held in the province, this time with the motto “Territories that innovate: cities that transform “, and which will have the presence of Governor Gerardo Zamora and the CEO of Fira Barcelona International, Ricard Zapatero, at its opening tomorrow, “offers a favorable environment for the presentation of actions in key areas such as technology, innovation and sustainability, with the objective to raise the quality of life of the community.”

Tribute to Perón

Also prior to legislative work, deputies recalled that this July 1 marks the 50th anniversary of the death of the former president of the Nation and founder of the National Justicialist Movement, Juan Domingo Perón.

“July 1, 1974 would become one of the saddest days in Argentine history with the news of the death of Juan Domingo Perón. Today, we ratify our commitment to continue working politically and ideologically along the path that Perón marked for us, ratifying the flags of Social Justice, Political Sovereignty, and Economic Independence. The best tribute we can pay to the General is to continue working so that the State is always with the workers, the dispossessed, and the most humble,” they emphasized.

UCR Anniversary

Then, the legislators recalled that this June 26 marks 133 years since the founding of the Radical Civic Union (UCR). “The main promoter of the founding of the UCR was Leandro Alem, who was convinced of the need to establish a political party that represented the interests of the middle and lower classes, and that fought for greater social justice and democracy in the country” , they indicated.

They approved important projects and initiatives

The legislators approved several commission reports declaring of interest: the 40 years of experience of the folklore singer-songwriter Juan José Pellicer; the career of Professor Nahuel “Pucho” Achaval; the career of Luis Alberto Víctor Orlandi; the “Life Project” Youth Congress (8 and 9/08); the presentation of the book “Insurgentes y Revolucionario”; the Climate Summit of the Argentine Youth (from 07/24 to 07/27); the 40th anniversary of the Scout group No. 238 of La Banda (07/09) and they also approved the post-mortem recognition of the musician Carlos Artayer.

Also: the events for Independence Day (9/07); activities for Rural Doctor’s Day (4/07); the 35th anniversary of the Comprehensive Education Center No. 50 San Juan Pablo II, for people with visual disabilities; the XXI Latin American Meeting of Mother of Cities Writers (07/17 to 19) at the Juan Felipe Ibarra Complex; the 140th founding anniversary of the city of Loreto (07/15); the 134th anniversary of the founding of Fernández (07/26); the 20th anniversary of the Latin American Meeting “Mishquila de Arpas” (08/22, 23 and 24); the literary recreation of the Work “Shunko”, carried out by the students of the Absalón Rojas School and they welcomed the creation of the Municipal Flag and Shield of the Municipal Commission of Villa Unión, of the Miter Department.

Also declared of interest were: the 50th anniversary of School No. 349 in the town of La Florida, Pellegrini Department (10/07); the 2nd City of Loreto Anniversary Motorcycle Meeting (07/12 to 15); the activities for the Centennial of School No. 1121 San José de Calasanz, at the Postito de San Antonio (09/15); the 50th anniversary of the Technical School No. 7 of Las Termas de Rio Hondo; the Experimental Scout Method Day (6/29); the book “Por los Cielos de la Mesopotamia”, by Raúl Jorge Castillo and the 53rd anniversary of institutional life of the Coronel Lorenzo Lugones Cadet School (1/07).

Other projects declared of interest were: the 2nd Chacarerazo Campaign (6/07) in the Upianita Cultural Courtyard; activities for National Book Day; activities for National Writer’s Day; the activities for the 35th anniversary of the Rotary Club of Fernández (1/07); the “Mega Festival of Diversity” (07/30) and approved a draft decree that recognizes post mortem, the career of the Santiago writer Carlos Fernández Loza.
