The 51st National Visual Arts Hall was inaugurated in Mumbai – El Eco

The Municipal Museum of Fine Arts of Tandil (MUMBAT) celebrated on Saturday night the inauguration of the fifty-first National Hall of Visual Arts. This annual event has evolved throughout its 51 years, broadening its vision and renewing its commitment to the artistic and cultural community. In its beginnings, the Hall focused on themes of landscape and spirituality, then sacred, and currently, with free themes, it has become an enriching platform for artists from all over the country.

The opening ceremony was attended by the mayor Miguel Lunghithe president of the Honorable Deliberative Council, Juan Pablo Frolikthe Undersecretary of Government, Mariano Martinathe Undersecretary of Culture and Education, Alejo Alguaciland the Museums coordinator, Indiana Gnocchini.

During the ceremony, Mayor Lunghi highlighted: “over the course of these fifty-one years, the Hall has been an excellent platform for artists from all over the country to express their visions and reflections through their works. It is important to highlight this opportunity that our government has firmly decided to support this valuable cultural proposal in times of enormous economic challenges. We know that art is a source of inspiration and hope, and that in difficult times, connecting with our human and creative side is more necessary than ever.“.

MUMBAT is redefined as a space open to the construction of different imaginaries, receiving proposals from all over the country with a true federal sense. This year, the Salon acquired a new work for its Contemporary Art Collection, also awarding awards in several categories: two-dimensional art, three-dimensional art, textile art and Tandilense artists, in addition to a special mention from the jury and three mentions.

The jury, made up of prominent art personalities Cristina Ferreras, Estela Halpert and Néstor Goyanes, determined the following award:

Mariana Hoffmann (Tandil) with the work “Urgent Telegram”.

Eric Javier Markowski (CABA) with the work “Untitled”.

Florencia Fernández Patetta (CABA) with the work “Las Fauces”.

Special Mention from the Jury:

Matías Amici (CABA) with the work “Anthropocene: yes, no, maybe”.

Tandilense Artist Award:

Paula Belén Dalmacio (Tandil) with the work “The memory of the forest”.

Textile Art Work Award:

María Adriana Omahna (CABA) with the work “Ucrania”.

Three-Dimensional Work Award:

Diego Ibáñez Roka (Tandil) with the work “Lost Steps”.

Two-Dimensional Work Award:

Carolina Di Paola (San Isidro, Buenos Aires) with the work “Who gives shelter to the insignificant?”

First Prize Acquisition:

Andrés Garavelli (Quilmes, Buenos Aires) with the work “Airport scanners”.

The exhibition will remain in the room until Sunday, August 11offering the community the opportunity to appreciate the award-winning works and the creative diversity of the participating artists.
