Why in small kitchens size does not matter: “In mini kitchens, make an effort: choose deep colors and Carrara marble”
In small kitchens the most important thing is organization and intelligent design. The designer of the moment, Beata Heuman, knows this very well. “If the kitchen is very small, first you have to accommodate what is absolutely necessary, for example, a decent sink. Then you can see what else you can put in it. Born in Sweden in 1983, her projects are known for their multiple layers and the virtue that, even when recently finished, they seem lived in. Small kitchens and custom furniture: the best decision
“Always We work with a carpenter when we design kitchens little. This gives us more freedom and allows us to implement less conventional ideas than if we had to rely on prefabricated cabinets. In this project we placed a draining board in the corner next to the upper cabinets and there are extra narrow drawers to the right of the stove,” says the designer.
The space above all draws attention to the combination of colors and textures in a small space. We see lacquered cabinets, marble for countertops and backsplashes, plus brown seaweed wallpaper at the top of the wall. “Actually, It’s a relatively simple color combination; It may look wilder because green is very unusual. We came up with this palette because the kitchen has no window. This way We suggest a connection with nature. And since the apartment is so small, we wanted to use deep colors to reinforce the feeling of being safe, type cocooning.
