15 public grants are being called for residences for the development of artistic research projects related to the purposes and activity of the Reina Sofía National Art Center Museum, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), for a total amount of 16,800 euros total (subject to applicable withholdings).

BASES

REQUIREMENTS:
Both natural persons, of legal age, individually, and groups may apply for these aids. However, the latter must either be legally constituted, proving the legal nature of the entity by providing any document that justifies its creation (such as statutory bases or founding minutes), or they may be collectives or groups constituted informally.

In this case of informal groups, the application form must include a person as a representative of the group (with sufficient powers to fulfill the obligations that correspond to the group) and the execution commitments assumed by each member of the group must be expressly stated in the application. collective, as well as the amount of aid to be applied to each of them. This group may not be dissolved until the deadline for project delivery and settlement of obligations has elapsed.

DURATION:
The residencies to develop the project linked to public aid will have a maximum duration of twelve consecutive months and are non-renewable.

MODALITIES:
The aid called are:
3 grants for research residencies in the culture of modernity in Spain.
3 grants for research residencies on contemporary art in Spain.
2 grants for research residencies in the Reina Sofía Museum archives.
2 grants for research residencies in the collection of the Reina Sofía Museum.
2 grants for research residencies on women artists linked to the collection and archives of the Reina Sofía Museum.
2 grants for research residencies in performance and living arts.
1 aid for research residencies in art and thought in the Spanish State.

In each type of residence, the degree of presence will be determined by its specific nature and said presence will not necessarily have to be linked to the main headquarters of the Reina Sofía Museum.

SENDING APPLICATIONS AND DOCUMENTATION:
The process will be carried out exclusively electronically through the electronic headquarters of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (https://museoreinasofia.sede.gob.es/).

Along with the application, it is required to sign all the Annexes (related to the linking of the call to the funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan) and present a CV (in the case of groups, also attach the CV of each member , a brief dossier of their research career, as well as complementary information about their most notable works, publications, conferences or research, and a preliminary project related to the selected aid modality outlining the research project to be developed during the residency, whose description will not exceed 3,000 words. It will always include a work plan containing a provisional calendar and the possible methodologies involved in the research).

Each applicant person or group may only opt for one of the seven proposed residency modalities. In the event that the indicated limit is exceeded, only the last registered application will be taken into account, and the remaining applications will be considered excluded.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION:
Until June 21, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.

ENDOWMENT:
The endowment for this call is 16,800 euros.
The payment of these aids will be carried out in the following way:
An advance payment on account in the amount of 10,000 euros within a maximum period of one month from the date of granting the aid, to cover expenses of, where applicable, first establishment, transportation, acquisition of materials, documentation, travel, etc
An intermediate payment in the amount of 5,000 euros, halfway through the period, after the appropriate monitoring and sharing of the project, both with the Advisory and Monitoring Commission, and with the rest of the beneficiaries of the residences.
A final payment in the amount of 1,800 euros after the presentation of a final report justifying the completion of the project, within a maximum period of one month from the end of the residency period.
