There are certain dates in the year in which we seek to commemorate and even raise awareness about certain traditions or events that have a very unique or very deep background, which, in either way, seeks a cultural impact. One of those most recent events was on March 21, which, although it is the day of spring, there was an equally important reason why yellow flowers were given, it was World Peace Day, where It seeks to raise awareness among humanity for reconciliation and good coexistence. And now we are getting closer to the date April 23 where we are looking to give away a book. The reason? It is just as important as the one on March 21 and here we are going to explain it to you.
Books are an essential resource for an excellent educational process, since with each reading we put our brain to work on imagination, discovering, traveling and getting to know the world around us. In the same way, our brain is exercised, several neural pathways are awakened, memory is activated and becomes more agile, since we remember, know and learn in a more intuitive way. In the emotional aspect, books also help us, and that is to release our emotions; joy, anger, sadness, love, anger, among others. In addition, reading a book is an excellent way to keep ourselves busy, distracted and even entertain ourselves.
As a result of all the positive things that come with reading a good book, encouraging reading becomes essential throughout the entire stage of the human being, and especially in childhood. Well, at this stage it is easier to acquire knowledge, and there is no doubt that it is one of the best habits that can be encouraged in a child. With regard to adulthood, that is when we obtain a wide variety of knowledge, stimulate perception, improve concentration and empathy, in addition to this, the emotional, educational and intellectual development of the reader is also significantly affected. a very positive way. As you can see, good reading is essential, but unfortunately there is an enormous lack of interest, and this increases more and more at any stage of life.
It is very true that reading opens the doors of knowledge, but despite such a beautiful habit, the interest in reading is becoming less and less in children, young people and adults. There are many reasons, there is no time, there are many books, they are very long, it is something that is difficult to do, one does not understand reading or why to do it (lack of reasons), there are no books at home or in the place where that they find or simply do not like to read.
April 23 World Book Day
Seeing how important a book is in life, April 23rd becomes World Book Day, which was proposed by Vicente Clavel in 1926, as it commemorates two great and brilliant writers who have left their mark. throughout the cultural framework worldwide: William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes, it is also the day on which their death anniversary is commemorated, which, although it was not the same year, it was on the same day.
Beyond these two very representative dates, we also seek to promote good reading and, above all, that it is not forgotten, and that all people worldwide have access to a book so that they can truly encourage themselves to read. and everyone around them.
This commemoration on April 23, as well as Copyright Day, was established by UNESCO in 1995, giving it even more strength so that you do not forget that books can be your best friend at any time, you can travel to worlds that you never imagined, so it’s time for you to do it and your knowledge grows with every word and paragraph you read.
