Officials from the Superintendence of Home Public Services, Superservicios, of the Ministry of Housing, City and Territory held meetings with directors of the District Public Services Company, Essmar, ESP, to advance in the consolidation of investment projects for Santa Marta.

Among the topics discussed is the implementation of the rehabilitation project of the Wastewater Pumping Station, Ebar Norte, which seeks to ward off contingencies that are registered in the sanitary sewage system.

Officials from the District Mayor’s Office also took part in the meeting held at the Gaira Pumping Station, who, like Essmar, which operates the aqueduct, sewage and public lighting systems, are also eager for everything to be resolved with a view to the 500 years of the Foundation of Santa Marta.

On the part of the company’s union leaders, they touched on issues such as the rumors within the company about financial findings that have not been made clear and some cases of corruption.

This is what Essmar expresses on his social media platform, more directly on his X account where, through messages, he roughly explains the results of the meeting with the officials of Superservicios and Minvivienda.

“Essmar ESP, together with the Superintendency of Home Public Services, the Ministry of Housing, City and Territory and the District Mayor’s Office of Santa Marta, after the declaration of a health emergency, defined the roadmap for the implementation of the EBAR Norte rehabilitation project. , this in order to mitigate the contingencies presented in terms of sewerage,” expresses the message posted on his X account.

UNION PETITION

For their part, Ana Isabel Orozco, Cristian Coronado and Lewis López Calderón, union leaders, stated that during the meeting they held with the officials mentioned above, they raised two issues that await a response next week.

They asked for clarity to be made about media versions and in some Essmar offices, about financial findings and about cases of corruption that have led to the departure of more than five directors of the company.

“The representatives of Superservicios promised that by the middle of next week at the latest they will have answers to our requests, so that once everything is clarified within Essmar,” they warned.
