The poet from Pergamin, who has been living in Villa de Merlo, San Luis, for a year, where, through the Vagus Ediciones publishing label, he continues his literary growth, announced that he is working on some manuscripts, including his next book.
The poet from Pergamin Tomás Debeljuh, based in Merlo, San Luis, will present his collection of poems “Palabras exhaladas”, at the 48th Buenos Aires International Book Fair, on Sunday, May 5 at 6:00 p.m., in the Blue Pavilion, stand 119 , La Juglaresa Books.
“Palabras exhaladas” is the first collection of poems published by the Vagus editions label and the fifth of its production. “Choosing where to live is allowing the landscape its tattoo. I have lived in Villa de Merlo, San Luis for a year,” he began by saying in contact with LA OPINION.
After publishing his latest book, the Argentine-Italian publishing label Vagus Ediciones proposed to him to be part of his dream. “He suggested that I literally dream about them. The poet, who also presented his book in Pergamino in April of last year, said that “during these new times I had the opportunity to start learning Italian, an essential language in this publishing house, given that it was created with the aim of carrying out exchanges.” transatlantic literary and cultural works. In fact, we have already published a first translation into Italian: ‘Il giorno che sequestrarono Puccio’, by Gustavo Menéndez, and we are working on the first translation of a tano into Spanish: ‘Hermann and the pneumatic city’, by Giacomo Soraperra.

For Debeljuh, being behind the scenes of a publishing house led him to realize that “writing is the grain of sand, it is not the sand, it is not cement, much less the foundation. Sometimes You have to immerse yourself in social networks, other times you have to be a traveling bookseller, visit festivals, fairs, sell books on the street. I became a bit of that: a fairground trader, since I travel around with my motorcycle and its ‘Poetry Delivery’ box. the Traslasierra squares selling my books and sharing workshops on reflection and literary expression,” he said.
“The workshops are fundamental, they are the shore and the lake or the river. A meeting place designed for authors, readers, workshop participants and visual artists; a living site that – even in the midst of the advance of artificial intelligence – reminds us that, for many, the book continues to be the result of a collective human fabric.
“Finally, another form of literary kinesis is presentation: learning to present one’s own or someone else’s book. A few days ago we launched the second poetry title: “No oscures que aclarece”, by Puchi García, at the Universidad Nacional de los Comechingones. Very soon I will have to present both the publishing label and the book “Palabras exhaladas” at the Buenos Aires International Book Fair.”
New book
Debeljuh announced that he is working on some manuscripts, including his next book: “Literary synesthesia: mixing the senses to find the book.” “It is already in the final stage, I can only say that it is a hybridization between essay and literary self-workshop. At the same time, we are reviewing ‘Palabras exhaladas’, thinking about its second edition, because we have very few copies left to reach the first 500 copies sold,” he concluded.
