During a recent interview on the podcast ChiquiWilothe renowned comic actor and drag queen Antonio Rodríguez, better known as ‘Toñizonte‘, opened his heart to share his feelings about his appearance in the posthumous book of Alex Broccatitled ‘Song of pain: do not repeat the song’.

Brocca’s autobiographical book, which went viral after the release of the film ‘Chabuca’, addresses various aspects of the late dancer’s life, including his love relationship with Ernesto Pimentel, in addition to his personal and professional experiences. However, to protect the identity of some people, Brocca chose to alter the names, a decision that caused Toñizonte discomfort.
During the interview, he confessed that the character ‘Tony Rodríguez’ in the book corresponds to himself, which caused him annoyance when he found out that he had been included without his prior consent. “Yes I am, in that book.”he stated, who expressed his annoyance at not having been informed about his inclusion in Brocca’s autobiographical work.
The former entertainment reporter recalled that he was informed by third parties about his appearance in the book, which generated confusion and displeasure. “Before, people were cruel, they told me, you have also done that and this, and I didn’t know what they were talking about.”commented Toñizonte, highlighting the lack of direct communication from Brocca about his participation in the work.
Likewise, Toñizonte addressed the issue of criticism towards Ernesto Pimentel after the premiere of the film ‘Chabuca’. She clarified that Pimentel has never approached him to ask him to publicly defend him against such criticism, pointing out that everyone is free to express his opinions independently.
“He hasn’t said anything to anyone. As far as I know, because we have friends in common, he has never bothered to say: ‘Hey, if the press calls, don’t talk to them.’ That is his own decision. Is Ernesto going to ban me? I can speak whatever I want. “I’ve already talked enough.”Toñizonte concluded.

Rodríguez revealed that he and Pimentel have been friends since they were 17, although he admitted that at some point they stopped seeing each other regularly, but he assured that their friendship remains intact. This statement sheds light on the long-standing relationship between both artists, which has transcended time and changes in their personal and professional lives.
Likewise, ‘Toñizonte’ revealed an interesting aspect of his relationship with Pimentel when talking about his presence on the red carpet of his friend’s biographical film, ‘Chabuca’. Contrary to what many might have thought, he clarified that he did not attend the premiere due to a personal invitation from Pimentel, but for work reasons.
“I went to the red carpet, but not because they invited me but to interview. I saw all my friends passing by and they said ‘Toño, come’, I just told them ‘I’m working’ and raised my hand.”he explained.
