With an abundance of inspiring experiences, unpublished texts, regional annotations, graphic imagination, guiding clues and collective concepts, Postcat. The podcast after the podcast, the book by Ernesto Lamas and Gastón Montells, proposes an original perspective to approach the social podcast.

“Technology serves to tell the world that we do not agree,” said the founding episode of the first Argentine radio podcast, published by FM La Tribu on July 17, 2005. Since their beginnings, almost twenty years ago, social organizations have been protagonists of that ancient novelty that is the podcast and the oral diamonds of their territorial narrative.

During the Covid 19 pandemic, Ernesto Lamas and Gastón Montells put together “The podcast after the podcast”, a space for reflection and production, a workshop without borders or time zones, starring representatives from 40 community radio stations in Latin America and the Caribbean; more than 200 Argentine popular organizations and students of the Communication Sciences Program at the University of Buenos Aires.

This book continues that experience, that of a subject on which there are practically no books. Its title alters the official spelling of the term. Poscat expresses an appropriation, a playful intervention, a way of naming it to make it close, local and ours. Celebrating current radio and all things radio.
