He Quinta 17 de Octubre Historical Museum will present the biography of Hebe de Bonafini, “Hebe and the hat factory”, by Demetrio Iramain, on Friday, June 7 at 5:00 p.m. The author will participate in the meeting, along with Carmen Arias (Mother of Plaza de Mayo), Cristina Caamaño (Rector of the National University of Mothers) and Verónica Parodi (Co-director of the Nuestros Hijos Cultural Space). The proposal, with free entry, is part of the activities promoted by the Cultural Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires.
In “Hebe and the hat factory”Demetrio Iramain builds a biography of Hebe de Bonafini through her living voice, in the first person, thus illuminating different facets of her life: from her hometown and her childhood in El Dique, to becoming one of the political and social figures most important in Argentina as co-founder and president of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Association.
Demetrius Iramain He is a writer, journalist, poet and activist. He was in charge of the newspaper Madres de Plaza de Mayo from 2003 to 2008, he is a columnist in the newspaper Tiempo Argentino and directed the magazine Ni un paso backward! of the Mothers. He also hosted with Hebe the cycles “Transformations of the white handkerchief” and “La Salmona” on the Madres radio station, AM 530.
