A cruise of Royal Caribbean International is undergoing a dry dock in Brest, France. After crossing the Atlantic at the end of April, the Radiance-class ship arrived at the shipyard Damen Shiprepair Brest on April 21, 2024.
Celebrating 20 years of service this year, the Jewel of the Seas It is now undergoing technical maintenance, in addition to a hotel renovation, inspections and class work.
According to local sources, the three-week drydock also includes overhauls of Jewel’s azipods, bow thrusters and stabilizers, as well as a complete repaint of the hull and superstructure.
Some of the exterior windows will be replaced during the shipyard’s stay, which also includes work on the electrical systems.
It is worth mentioning that Jewel of the Seas will be ready to resume service on May 15, 2024. On that day, the ship is scheduled to depart Amsterdam for a 15-night cruise to Iceland, Ireland and the British Isles.
