Registration is now open to participate in Samsung’s educational challenge that invites young people to be agents of change in their communities through technological solutions

The eleventh edition of Solve For Tomorrow begins, Samsung’s regional program aimed at students from public secondary schools in Argentina, Paraguay and public secondary education in Uruguay. From April 30 to August 20, students can form teams of 2 to 5 members and present innovative projects on the challenge platform (www.solvefortomorrow.com.ar) to address local problems through the use of the STEM methodology (a term in English, which means Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The projects presented can cover topics such as building a just society, caring for the environment, health and education, and must have the support of a teacher.

The program also encourages the development of soft skills to empower young people to transform real problems in their communities and consists of three stages: ideation, co-creation and consolidation. In this edition, it will have mentoring from Samsung volunteers and the participation of a prestigious jury of experts, made up of: Tomás Balmaceda, Argentine philosopher specialized in technology; Nicolás Fernandez Miranda, Argentine professor and author specialized in neuroscience applied to learning; Gustavo Gallino, Uruguayan journalist specialized in technology; Desirée Jaimovich Argentine journalist specialized in technology and innovation; Julieta Schulkin, Argentine journalist and author specialized in technology and digital culture; Afara Salomon Carrasco, general director of Neural Genius and Lucas (Seung Joo) Shin, president of Samsung Argentina.

In the region, the program has been present since 2014, with the participation of more than 28 thousand students and teachers and more than 6 thousand projects presented between the three countries.

It should be noted that, in this edition, Design Thinking workshops will be held in public schools in all the provinces of Argentina, with Tekuoia, Socialab and Koga, as technical allies.

Education is always the key, both for the present and for the future of the next generations. It empowers students and teachers and encourages them to address local challenges with creative solutions. Through initiatives like Solve for Tomorrow, we not only cultivate knowledge and technical skills, we also foster values such as collaboration, innovation and community engagement.” held Laura Lenzi, Head of Corporate Citizenship at Samsung.

New Solve for Tomorrow Platform

As a novelty, this year Samsung launched the Solve for Tomorrow Latam digital platform, an innovative space to recognize and value teachers. As its main differential, the solvefortomorrowlatam.com page offers a wide range of resources in STEM education created by and for teachers, as well as inspiring stories and support materials in several languages.

On May 8, a webinar will be held for the platform’s participating educators, exploring their experiences in the program. Registration can be done through the website itself.
