Who can receive the Death Allowance?

  • It should be noted that those who receive the current Universal Guaranteed Pension (PGU) receive another benefit called Mortuary Feewhich has the same purpose and provides up to 15 UF ($559,301) for funeral expenses.

How do I request the Death Allowance?

The process to request the Death Allowance can be carried out in person at any of the ChileAtiende offices throughout the country, or through the IPS websitefollowing the following steps:

  • Enter your RUTand in the Procedures section click on “Death Allowance / Mortuary Fee”.
  • Enter the RUT of the deceased person responsible.
  • Enter the portal with your RUT and Unique Key.
  • If you meet the requirements, complete the required information (for the funeral company and the applicant).

In both cases, when making the request you must also present the following documentation:

  • Original invoice delivered by the funeral company.
  • Burial certificate if more than 30 days have passed since the death of the deceased.
