“A direct taste experience”

With this wine we are going to get to the point. Do you want to have a spectacular reference at home that costs just over 15 euros? Are you curious to try a wine that, in the words of sommelier David Delgado, is “a direct and uncomplicated flavor experience”?

Well look no further, here you have Verónica Ortega Quite, a red wine from the Bierzo region that boasts of being fresh and cheerful… and that in its 2021 vintage achieved 93 points on the Parker list. That’s a lot of reasons to brag, right?

Veronica Ortega Quite

Verónica Ortega, from Cádiz trained in the prestigious wineries of Burgundy and Priorat, found her passion in Bierzo. In Valtuille de Abajo, she established her personal project, working mainly with old Mencía vineyards under ecological principles. Its artisanal vinification, spontaneous fermentations with wild yeasts and low doses of sulfites give rise to wines full of character and personality.

Verónica Ortega Quite is a red wine that awakens the senses with its youth and fruity character. When tasted, an explosion of fresh red fruits unfolds, such as strawberries and cherries, harmonized with subtle floral touches. Its freshness and minerality are palpable, providing a sensation of purity in every sip. In the mouth, it flows smoothly, its texture caresses the palate and its acidity revitalizes the senses. This wine is the perfect choice for those looking for a direct and uncomplicated flavor experience.

This wine is made with Mencía from vineyards over 80 years old, located in Valtuille, with clay-sandy soils rich in minerals. The harvest is carried out manually, in 15 kg boxes. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed before fermenting in stainless steel tanks, with a light extraction. Maceration lasts approximately 10 days, and aging takes place for 8 months: 50% in used oak barrels and the other 50% in 800-liter clay pots.

It is perfect at 16°C and we recommend pairing it with aged cheeses, red meats and game.
