Recently, it was learned that an Adidas Outlet had to close its doors due to of complaints from a customer who reported that said store was failing to comply with electronic billing requirements.

The same National Tax and Customs Directorate (Dian) confirmed in a statement that on Tuesday morning it carried out the closure for three days from the establishment located at Carrera 60 # 10 – 68, Bogotá.

According to the entity, received a complaint from a citizen and proceeded to carry out a series of control visits: “the Dian carried out the corresponding verifications, attended to the establishment’s defenses, evaluated the evidence and, subsequently, confirmed the sanction,” stated the Dian.

The establishment was sanctioned. The entity explained that the Tax Statute indicates that the establishment that fails to comply with the billing requirements can benefit from the payment of a fine to avoid the three-day closure.

More than 355 stores are closed

The reason was due to non-compliance with electronic billing, a similar case was suffered by stores such as Jumbo from the Santafé Shopping Center, in November 2023.

And they have not been the only cases. It must be remembered that at the beginning of 2024, the Olympic Superstore was also sanctioned Portal 80, located in the west of Bogota.

Dian maintained that it identified that the invoice was only provided to customers registered in its Olímpica system, the others left the establishment without said requirement.

Most of the stores that closed are located in large cities. La Dian maintained that 25% of the sanctions were in Bogotá. Establishments located in San Andresito de la 38, San Andresito San José, Galleries Sector, Unilago Sector, San Victorino Sector and the Fontibón commercial sector, were among the most affected.

In the case of Medellín, there were 61 sealings of premises located in the traditional sector of El Hueco, located in the Center.
