Robeco launches enhanced Global Multi-Thematic equity strategy

Robeco has strengthened its thematic position with the launch of the new Global Multi-Thematic strategy. According to the manager, it is a “ready-to-use solution with which clients can obtain long-term profitability from megatrends.” The manager highlights that, currently, the total global assets under management of active thematic equities exceeds €400 billion, and is expected to have annual organic growth of more than 10%.

Through bottom-up stock selection across all of its thematic strategies, Robeco aims to amplify overall profitabilityas well as minimizing concentration risks and volatility associated with specific themes. This strategy is based on the Megatrends fund, launched more than 10 years ago. The strategy takes shape in a global equity portfolio that draws on Robeco’s broad thematic range to effectively capture and amplify the upside potential of robust themes while mitigating downside risk.

The strategy applies a systematic and dynamic investment process that allocates and calibrates your exposure to the most promising themes and underlying companies from Robeco’s diverse range of thematic equity strategies. The three key trends it focuses on are transformative technologies, sociodemographic changes and planet preservation.

According to him, his improved multi-thematic strategy will be led by a specialized team consisting of three experienced portfolio managers – Dora Buckulčíková, Marco van Lent and Steef Bergakker – and two investment analysts, who will be supported by a network of 13 Robeco thematic ambassadors. These ambassadors will directly transmit their investment ideas, providing their extensive specialized knowledge, in-depth analysis and perspectives on their respective thematic areas.

«As a global asset manager, Robeco provides its clients with superior returns and investment solutions to achieve their financial and sustainability goals. Thanks to the enhanced Global Multi-Thematic strategy, we offer our clients the opportunity to invest in the most relevant trends. Additionally, bringing together multiple thematic strategies into a single solution provides diversification and volatility adjustment benefits. The selection of trends reflects the high economic value we attribute to addressing inefficiencies, inequalities and imbalances in business, society and the environment. In general, markets tend to underestimate this value. Now, our clients can invest in 3 secular trends and 13 innovative thematic strategies through a single strategy,” he highlighted. Ralf Oberbannscheidt, Head of Thematic Investment at Robeco.
