Samsung Bespoke AI takes a step forward in terms of accessibility – Samsung Newsroom Peru

Samsung’s Bespoke AI appliances are equipped with several features that reduce the difficulties faced by people with disabilities or difficulties in using appliances.

On the occasion of World Accessibility Awareness Day, which is celebrated on May 16, the Samsung Newsroom has highlighted the accessibility features of Bespoke AI appliances that allow easy and convenient use for everyone.

Designed with mobility in mind

Both the Samsung Bespoke 4-Door Flex™ refrigerator with AI Family Hub™ and Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ come with Auto Open Door, a feature that helps users open the doors of these appliances. The refrigerator doors open with a light touch, and the washing machine doors open when you turn it on or when a cycle is completed. This function makes it easier to use appliances for people who have difficulty opening doors, such as the elderly or those who use a wheelchair.

Full audio and voice control

The Bixby voice command feature[1]allows users to control home devices using just their voice, easing the burden of device operation for people with vision impairments. Through voice commands, Bespoke WindFree™ air conditioner floor models can control other appliances – such as refrigerators and washing machines – once connected to SmartThings.

Devices that offer voice assistant audibly detect user commands and the status of each appliance. This feature, included on select Samsung air conditioners and robot vacuum cleaners, will be expanded via a software update to Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ and other products equipped with AI Home, a 7-inch LCD touch panel that helps control home appliances. .

Accessible sounds – available on select models of refrigerators for the visually impaired – offer audio information in a series of different sounds with variable scales and syllabic pauses, allowing users to better navigate the operating controls. Samsung is now extending this feature to Bespoke AI refrigerators and other products, so that users can easily adjust the temperature of the refrigerator and freezer compartments.

Created for all ages

Samsung is expanding its Senior Care feature to more home appliances through AI Home to improve reading using larger fonts.

In addition, certain induction hobs have Child Lock (Child Lock), a function that disables the control of the plate to prevent children or pets from accidentally operating it. The lock can be controlled remotely in the SmartThings app.

Samsung plans to accelerate its development of accessibility technology under the motto “AI for everyone” so that everyone can enjoy convenience in everyday life.
