The Bavaria company launched this Wednesday a national call aimed at sustainability entrepreneurs, regarding World Environment Day, which is commemorated this June 5.

As explained by the company, this call was opened under the global Accelerator 100+ program, with the purpose of finding innovative solutions to current sustainability challenges in seven categories: circular economy, sustainable agriculture, water management, climate action, biodiversity, inclusive growth , and health and well-being.

“We are looking for Colombian entrepreneurs to solve sustainability challenges through our Accelerator +100 program, an innovation platform dedicated to promoting the growth of startups that contribute to a future with more reasons to provide for the environment and people,” said Samira Fadul. , Vice President of Corporate Affairs of Bavaria.

He detailed that this project will finance the implementation of a pilot of up to USD $100,000 (about 393 million Colombian pesos) for the winners and will offer training with key experts in areas such as negotiation, marketing and financial structuring.

Likewise, Bavaria explained what the seven sustainability categories contemplated in the call consist of:

  1. Circular economy: projects to close the loop and create a global circular economy where waste is eliminated, resources continually circulate and nature is regenerated through new packaging systems, recycling infrastructure and food supply alternatives.
  2. Water management: optimize the entire water process in all commercial operations, to improve the quality and availability of water in the communities surrounding the operations to build a world with greater water security.
  3. Sustainable agriculture: Help farmers produce sustainable, regenerative, high-yielding, high-quality crops by leveraging science, technology and finance.
  4. Climate Action: Driving supply chains to reach net zero carbon emissions by finding affordable technologies to decarbonize value chains around the world.
  5. Inclusive growth: create economic prosperity, workplace safety, inclusion and long-term environmental health.
  6. Nature and Biodiversity: protect, renew and grow the biodiversity of all ecosystems to protect life on Earth and maintain the foundation of brewing operations.
  7. Health & Wellness: increase the well-being of workers, consumers and communities so that they can fully participate in social, cultural and recreational activities.

“Those who are winners will be able to receive up to $100,000 USD to implement their idea through a pilot project in the supply chain proposed in their venture. Since its creation in 2018, the 100+ Accelerator has promoted the consolidation of 148 companies in 38 countries,” said Bavaria.
