New York, June 7 (EFE).- The Spanish business group GMV is already working on a technological platform that will modernize 325 buses of the public transportation service of Westchester County, located in the state of New York and with more than one million inhabitants. .

According to the company, which won this contract worth 16 million dollars (about 14.8 million euros) after a tender, its objectives will be to offer a more efficient service, optimize the supervision of bus operations and improve customer experience.

GMV will thus be responsible for installing GMV Hub technology in each of the vehicles of what is known as ‘Bee-Line’, a resistant on-board computer created specifically for public transport systems and with a long useful life, as detailed by the Spanish company. it’s a statement.

GMV Hub will allow you to control the GPS, the bus driver’s touch screen, automatic passenger counters, next stop announcements, internal security cameras and a specific sensor to monitor the availability of the bus service’s own depots.

These operations will be centralized through the ITS Suite software, also created by GMV, which offers a set of cloud applications for clients.

This technology has been developed in recent years for the European market and has already been successfully deployed in public transport in Barcelona or Granada, as well as being used for different services of the Xunta de Galicia.

GMV’s expansion on the East Coast of the United States includes the opening of an office in New York to offer assistance to Westchester County and its other partners. EFE
