Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced that will resume its flights to South Americawhen reconnecting Casablanca (CMM)Morocco, with São Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU), Brazil. The airline had suspended its operations in March 2020, due to the COVID-19 health crisis.

Until 2020, RAM operated four flights per week to São Paulo and two per week to Rio de Janeiro/Galeão (GIG). Prior to the pandemic, Royal Air Maroc was the third airline with the largest offer of seats to Africa and the only one that provided connectivity in the north of the continent. In 2019, Royal Air Maroc transported 129,468 passengers between Morocco and Brazil, with occupancy rates of 76%, according to Brazil’s Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC).

According to a press release obtained by our media partner, Aeroin, RAM will reconnect Casablanca with Guarulhos starting December 7, 2024 with three weekly flights. The operations will be carried out with Boeing 787-8 configured for 274 passengers, divided into 18 seats in business class and 256 in economy, providing an offer of 1,644 seats per week.

  • Casablanca 16:40 – 22:20 São Paulo / Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
  • São Paulo 00:20 – 13:15 Casablanca / Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

“It is part of our development plan and will strengthen our long-term network and, above all, will mark our return to the continent of Latin America. “It will facilitate the movement of tourists and businessmen from both continents, while meeting the expectations of European tourists who wish to plan combined trips between Africa and Latin America,” declared Hamid Addou, CEO of RAM.

The reactivation of this route, which connects the economic and financial capitals of both countries, responds to the growing demand from businessmen and tourists from both sides of the Atlantic. Furthermore, it is in line with the airline’s mobilization to support the great projects of the Moroccan kingdom, in particular the great world sporting event that Morocco, Spain and Portugal will organize, the 2030 Soccer World Cup.

Flight sales will be available from June 12 on the company’s website, through its call centers, in its commercial agencies and in the travel agency network.
